Trainer’s Room: Jorge Posada to DL; Out 2-3 Weeks (Hamstring)
Posted by Mike Caprio May 5, 2009
Jorge Posada, who until last season had not been on the Disabled List in his career, has now been placed on the 15-day DL for the second time in as many seasons—this time with a sore right hamstring that will shelve him for 2-3 weeks.
Posada re-injured his sore right hamstring last night during a rain-soaked debacle (that began 2 hrs and 30 mins late) against the Red Sox.
This will impact fantasy owners across the Country who rely on Jorge Posada for the bulk of their catching duties. Â Replacing Posada full-time will be Jose Molina, with Francisco Cervelli from AAAÂ Scranton/Wilkes-Barre serving as his back-up. Â Neither player is worthy of a pick-up in even the deepest Fantasy baseball league.
