Trainer’s Room: Giants’ Rookie RB Andre Brown Out for Season (Achilles)
Posted by Mike Caprio August 15, 2009
Don’t you just love pre-season?
In this case, the season-ending injury to Giants’ rookie running back Andre Brown was suffered on the practice field in Albany last night.  Big Blue’s 4th round pick out of NC State apparently suffered the injury while attempting to bring down a pass with Linebacker Gerris Wilkinson in coverage.
Immediately Brown fell to the ground and was carted off the field.
The injury was confirmed later as a ruptured left Achilles tendon that will end the rookie’s season before it started.
This will likely have little impact in most fantasy leagues as Brown was 4th on the Giants’ depth chart—however if you were planning on drafting and taxi-ing the rookie RB, you may want to spend your pick elsewhere.

New York Giants rookie running back Andre Brown tore the Achilles’ tendon in his left leg and will be lost for the season. Hope he is fine.
