Trainer’s Room: Donovan McNabb Out for Week Two (Rib); Anthony Gonzalez Out 2-6 Weeks (MCL)

McNabb Injured...Surprise!

McNabb Injured...Surprise!

I missed both games en route to Las Vegas this afternoon, but according to Mike Florio at ProFootballTalk Donovan McNabb, who suffered a broken rib against the Panthers today, will miss the Eagles second game of the season against the Saints.

The challenge for the Eagles will be who will start in McNabb’s absence since Vick is ineligible to return until Week Three, and last year’s back-up A.J. Feeley was released during training camp.   As a Fantasy Football GM, you have to wonder whether McNabb can ever make it through a full NFL season, and as an Eagles fan you have to wonder “what’s next”.

Fantasy Football GM’s across the country held their breath today after Colts’ Wide Receiver Anthony Gonzalez suffered an apparent season-ending knee injury that turned out to be an MCL sprain that will keep Peyton’s WR2 on the shelf from 2-6 weeks.  If you’re in the market for a WR, look for Pierre Garcon and Austin Collie to receive additional touches while Gonzalez is on the shelf.

Kolb sucks so I say we do a trade deal for this years 1st round pick and kolb for 2011 draft pick from cheifs… In the time being pick up somebody for cheap to play week two cause it’s only one week and when mcnabb is done with the eagles… In 2011 we draft notes dame qb jimmy clausen! And play vick the year he’s a rookiie and clausen sophomore year, vick will be burnt out because he runs so much and jimmy will lead us to hopefully some SB’s!

With a thought process like that no wonder the Eagles don’t have a Super Bowl.
    1. Why would the Chiefs want Kolb?
    2. Vick has many, many solid years ahead of him wherever he ends up starting next year. I expect the Eagles to move him this offseason for at least a 2nd rounder.

You are both idiots. This isn’t Madden football here. The Chiefs aren’t going to swap draft picks for Kolb. Also, Vick is only signed to a one-year deal so how can they trade him for a 2nd rounder?
