Trainer’s Room: Cole Hamels to miss a start?

Â
Cole Hamels, scorched for 7 runs and 11 hits in 3 2/3 innings last night against the Colorado Rockies, may miss a start. Reports from the game had Hamel’s fastball clocked as low as 84 MPH, and with it Charlie Manuel refusing to commit Hamel to his next start.
“…Cole Hamels doesn’t pitch at 86 miles an hour, “ Manuel commented after the game, “He pitches at 88-to-93. There’s a huge difference. That tells me that he is not quite ready yet.”
Carlos Carrasco owners could get an opportunity to see the young man fill-in for last year’s World Series MVP. Watch this closely…if he, in fact, misses a start, look for the Phillies to DL him retroactive to today…which would have him back at the earliest April 26th against the Marlins.
