DJohnson is just another example of a former 4-3 guy being shoved into a 3-4 scheme. I was under the impression he was going to play the outside. However, Kansas City sources state he will play the middle. I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. I just know to stay away. He’s never been a strong stat compiler. He’s the kind of player that got us all jazzed up after his 2005 rookie season (80 solos, five big plays), only to find out that those numbers are his ceiling. I don’t foresee a change in defensive alignment suddenly making him a must-own player.  DJohnson’s Dynasty/Keeper league linebacker projection is in the low-30’s. At that price, I’d rather take a shot on potential then grab something ordinary.

He’s a Hall of Famer. Don’t think so? Check out his ridiculous stats. Since 2000, he has no less than 90 solos and 27 assists in a season. His average year during this time is a whopping 99 solos, 40 assists. 2.8 sacks, and 3.8 turnovers. He has been the team leader on defense in St. Louis, Buffalo, and Washington. Most importantly, he has won a championship with the Rams. Past stats are all well and good, but in fantasy-land, we need current production. His big plays have been sparse during the past two years, but the tackle numbers are still outstanding. The addition of fat man Albert Haynesworth should help clear the way for Fletcher to maintain superb tackle numbers. His age (34) is the only thing keeping his draft ranking low. Take advantage, as he still is a LB#1. Fletcher’s Dynasty/Keeper league linebacker projection is in the mid-20’s. Grab your high profile youngsters first, and then scoop up Fletcher. Chances are if you’re the owner of Fletcher, you probably have one of the better linebacker units in your fantasy league.
