As we mentioned earlier in the week Texas Rangers closer Frank Francisco continues to be bothered by right bicep tendinitis and has been placed on the 15-day DL.  In the interim, Rangers’ set-up man C.J. Wilson will man closer duties for the Rangers and could serve as a nice waiver wire pick-up. (If you haven’t already been beaten to the punch).  For those on Twitter, C.J. Wilson’s handle is @str8edgeracer.

In 17 appearances this season C.J.’s line is:

15.1 Innings, 2 Wins, 2 Losses, 1 Save (Last Night), 4.11 ERA, 10 K, 9 BB (1.11 K/BB)

For those who forget, C.J. had 24 saves for the Rangers in 2008 and 12 saves in 2007.
