Trainer’s Room: Welker Seriously Injures Knee (unofficial)

New England Patriots fans are cringing after the news of a potentially serious injury to the league’s most prolific pass-catcher. Wes Welker hurt his left knee, and needed assistance getting off the field. While on the sidelines, he was seen cursing/yelling on the bench, which eventually gave way to tears. A cart was summoned, which took Welker to the locker room. It doesn’t take a detective to determine that there is a high probability Welker will not be a part of the post season.

Trainer’s Room: SJax a Late Scratch, Gonzo, Pierre, and Carolina’s Smith leave early, and All NFL Week 16 Injuries

Hopefully you were around a computer at 3pm EST. That’s when Rams workhorse running back Steven Jackson was declared inactive. He’s been playing with a few different ailments lately – the most serious being a sore back from carrying the pathetic Rams. Panther’s wide receiver Steve Smith is one of the toughest players in all of football. He caught a 22-yard pass over the middle, was clobbered by a Giants safety, hung onto the football, and stayed on his feet for the final 5 yards of a 27-yard TD catch. It was also his last play of the season, as his broke his forearm on the play. Falcons’ tight end Tony Gonzalez missed much of the game versus the lowly Bills with a calf injury. Running back Pierre Thomas missed all of the second half, and Brandon Jacobs can never be trusted to make it through any given game. Let’s take a look at all of the key NFL Week 16 injuries (courtesy of cbs; organized by keeperleaguegm.com):
